Flowingly’s AI SOPs make it ridiculously easy to capture and share how-to guides directly from your browser. But before you can start recording your masterpiece, there are a couple of things to tick off.

This guide walks you through getting set up — from checking if SOPs are enabled, to installing the required browser extension, to recording your first SOP.

Here’s a quick walkthrough:

✅ What You Need Before You Begin

  • SOPs must be enabled for your Flowingly account

  • A Chrome or Edge browser

  • Permission to install browser extensions
If you’re locked down by IT, you’ll need to contact your system admin

🛠 Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Check that AI SOPs are Enabled in Flowingly

  • Open Flowingly

  • Look for the SOPs icon in the left-hand navigation

  • Or go to the Library and check if there’s a "SOPs" section

💡 If you don’t see either, SOPs aren’t enabled on your account.
→ Contact your internal admin or reach out to Flowingly Support to get it switched on.

2. Install the SOP Browser Extension

  • Grab the Chrome extension or Edge extension here OR head over to the Chrome Web Store or Microsoft Edge Add-ons store and search for "Flowingly SOP"

  • Click Add to Chrome (or Edge)

⚠️ If you get a permissions error or can’t install extensions yourself
→ Contact your IT team or system admin — they’ll need to do it for you.

3. Refresh Flowingly & Start Recording

  • Once the extension is installed, go back to Flowingly

  • Hit Refresh

  • The “Record SOP” button should now be green and clickable

  • Click it, and start capturing your process

Tips & Troubleshooting

  • "Record SOP" button missing or greyed out?
Double-check that the extension is installed correctly (look under your browser’s extensions list)

  • Can’t install the extension?

    • Try switching to a different supported browser (Chrome or Edge)

    • If it’s locked down, contact your IT department

  • Still not working?

    • Refresh the Flowingly tab after installing

    • If all else fails, ping Flowingly Support
