Introduction

Quickly summarise the changes made to a Flow Model and run time/cost analysis between different versions of a flow model.

Prerequisites

This feature is only accessible through the Governance Module or the Modeler meaning the following roles have access by default:

  • Business Administrator

  • Flow Model Administrator

  • Flow Model Editor

Instructions

Edit any Process Map or Workflow from the Library or open a Process Map or Workflow from the Governance Module. Then click the more options button to open the dropdown and select "Compare Versions"

Then select which versions of your flow model you want to compare. This includes:

  • From version: By default, this will display the most recently published version of the selected Flow Model

  • To version: By default, this will display the most recently edited version of the selected Flow Model

Both versions can be adjusted by selecting different options from the dropdowns. However, the From version must have been published before the To version.

Once the correct versions have been selected, click "Compare" to open the Compare tab.

The Compare tab contains a summary of the changes made to the Flow model between the version selected alongside a Time & Cost Comparison if Active time and Wait time have been added to the Step Details across your Flow Model.

Each step that contains changes between the version will be summarised on a step-by step basis. Ay steps that are not listed in the Compare tab have remained unchanged between versions.

By hovering over the name of the step in the Compare tab the relevant step in your Flow Model will be highlighted on the map.

Tips & Best Practices

We recommend Category Publishers in the Governance module use this feature to quickly summarise the changes made by Flow Model Editors to speed up review times.

The dollar value for the Time and Cost Comparison is a single value set at the site level. This is not intended to be used to display exact wages/salaries but rather it is intended to show the percentage of improvement of your Flow Models over time.

If your Time and Cost Comparison shows no value then get in touch with Flowingly support (CustomerSuccess@Flowingly.net) and suggest the amount that needs to be set.
